the area. We believe we offer guests the true rainforest
accommodation experience with cabins set deep within the
rainforests of the Daintree. Guests are able to escape into
a world far removed from their own and enjoy the diversity
and unique adaptations of the rainforest. Being one of
Australia's best kept secrets and regarded as one of the top
Daintree Accommodation options by
many visitors.
Located just 14km north of the Daintree River
and 30 minutes from Cape Tribulation, Daintree Wilderness Lodge
is centrally located to Great Barrier Reef Cruises, Rainforest
Walks and Cruises on the Daintree River. We believe, you have
only truly experienced the rainforest in Australia, once you
have crossed the Daintree River and seen the Daintree National
Park.
The Lodge offers guests a complete escape
with all necessary facilities available on-site, allowing you
to relax and enjoy your holiday. Facilities include an outdoor
pool, fully licensed bar and restaurant and personal services

We only have 7 cabins and could be described
as having a "bed and breakfast feel" with added on-site
facilities often not available in smaller Daintree
accommodation venues.
"An amazing place with
the warmest of welcomes. Best food we've had in
Australia. We shall be back to find Fred" (the
cassowary). Thank you. Jane and Chris - March

Upon entering the property, you will be
amazed at the complete stillness and quiet
surroundings. Other than the crickets at dusk, the
frogs when it rains and the pitter patter of
raindrops on your roof, you will not hear anything
that resembles city life.

Walking through such old rainforest brings
through a strange feeling of calmness and
serenity. Perhaps it is the realisation that we
are merely a drop in the long history of
evolution and life.
Our nature walk windes through small creeks
and fan palm auditoriums.
With a beautiful small creek at the end to
swim in or simply enjoy the fish and bird life
it attracts.

The lodge was created to ensure a harmony
exists between us and the wildlife that
naturally occur in the rainforest. By building
the lodge on walkways and stilts, many unique
animals which are endmic to the Daintree area
are often spotted by guests while staying with
us. We can feel secure in being above the
wildlife, while the wildlife feel secure that
we are not going to encrouch on their territory
either. It is a nice arrangement.
We have a number of permanent residence on
the property, including Fred the Cassowary and
Boyd Forest Dragons.
